I have tried playing with thw Wingtech settings, going from 2.4 Ghz to 5 Ghz, and the various WIFI “bands” which are marked 20M 40M and 80M, an array of “channels” like 36 and 149, etc. I also walked up the tall hill behind my house and in only one small area could I get the same signal as the spot in my driveway, -93 dbm.īut even at -93 I cannot get a connection to the Internet. Walking around my 2 acres its always in the -103 to -111 dbm range. It’s -111 in the house and in the best spot outside my house its -93.and that only in a weird sliver of space in the driveway. Obviously the signal could be the problem. These don’t match the signal strength shown in dbm. In a window facing toward the tower or outside the window it gets 3-5 bars, with 4 being average. On the admin page there are also a “bars” indicator and the bars change depending where the device is located. Mine is always green but the admin page shows signals ranging from -103 to -111 dbm which is really one bar. When its green you supposedly have 3-5 bars, yellow is 1-2 bars and red is no signal. There is a “five bar” light on the device, but its only an indicator of being on. Many of the advanced settings default to AUTO. I can access the admin page on my desktop browser and all settings look normal, as if the device is working. The device comes with a battery and a USB charger that allows it to be plugged in without the battery.
